Polarity™ Overview
Before play begins, the 52 black and white are split between the two players.
The objective of the game is to play all 26 of your discs, while at the same time attempting to force your opponent to create faults with discs that are already in play on the mat. Faults result in scoring opportunities. The player with the highest score at the end of the game (when one of the players has used all of their discs) wins!
Winning the game
To win the game, a player must control more discs in the form of stacks of discs, called Towers. Towers are created when either player causes a reaction which results in two or more discs coming into contact with each other. Points are determined by counting the number of discs that each player has in Towers of their own color. Foundation Discs and Standing Discs do not count as points. Discs remaining in the players’ hands at the completion of the game, are subtracted from any points that the player earned during the game.
Losing the game
There are three ways to lose at Polarity™. The first was outlined in the previous paragraph; If you have fewer points than your opponent at the end of a game, you lose. The second way you can lose is if you cause a disc to come into contact with the RED disc. Touch the RED Center disc with any disc and its Game Over. Third, any player that causes the RED disc to completely uncover the play mats center dot loses the game. If the center dot becomes only partially uncovered, the RED disc must be left to lie where it sits at the end of the turn.
